New Haircut

                                      BEFORE

I've been growing my hair out for awhile now.

I've always felt more comfortable with long hair, I'm not sure why.

But realistically long hair isn't the fastest way to get ready in the morning.

So yesterday on my day off, I decided to get it all cut off.

I've had a BOB cut before, so I knew what I was in for.

She literally took off about 6 inches.

I felt so much better afterwards.
                                           AFTER

I'm sure in a few months I'll get tired of short hair and want to grow it back out.

Do you get tired of your hair style quickly?

Survived the weekend

For those of you that work retail, this past weekend was probably super crazy for you.

I work at a small women's clothing boutique and even we were busy.

I didn't have to be at my store until 7am, so for the first time ever I joined in with the Friday Madness.

My mother in law informed me on Thanksgiving day that Menard's ( aka Hardware store) had a cricut for $148. WOW.

I've been wanting one for awhile now, but couldn't justify the price.  At that price it was worth standing in line for two hours.
I was so glad my husband came with me.

I didn't realize how dangerous black Friday got.

Right before the doors opened people started already pushing everyone in front of them.

If I fell, I don't think anyone would have stopped.  I seriously would have gotten trampled.  Yikes!

But the good news is that I got one.

The only problem is, I've been working so much since then.

I haven't had a chance to try it out.

Tomorrow on my day off, I plan on testing it out with gift tags ideas.

Did you go out for black Friday?

What deals did you find?

Winter Blues!!

Winter Blues

So I'm not sure if its the gloomy weather or just me getting burnt out at work, but I have a serious case of the winter blues and winter has barely started.  The time change has really messed with my internal time clock.  I hate getting off work and having it be pitch black already. I think my dog even has the blues.

I find my self daydreaming about our trip this year to Hawaii and wishing we were there again.  In January we took a trip to Maui and absolutely loved it.  We did everything from:

Horseback riding

Lu aha

Shopping

 Eating way too much!

Sunrise walks ( wow, you can tell we just woke up)

But my absolute favorite thing to do was to lay on the beach and just people watch. Basically RELAX!! I'm such a high strung person.  I have a hard time making my mind stop thinking.  I analyze everything way too much.

So getting away was so awesome.  My husband and I don't usually take trips.  For two main reasons MONEY and Getting time off work.  We went to see the movie Couples retreat
We had a revelation at the movie theatre.  "Why the heck haven't we gone anywhere".
We didn't take a honeymoon, because we paid for everything( I mean alldresses, tuxes, food, entertainment, everything), we didn't want our wedding to be a burden to our family.
We've been married for five years.
So after seeing that movie, we were determined to go on a beautiful retreat of our own.
So as soon as we got home we went online and did estimates for airlines, hotels, average prices for activities, car rental you name it.
Figured out an estimated budget and started saving each paycheck.( It did take us a few months)  Before we new it, it was January and we had all the savings we needed for the trip.
I hired two new people to help while I was gone,so my job was covered.
It was such a memorable trip.  I loved going on a new adventure with my husband and trying so many new things together.
If your thinking of getting away, I definitely recommend Hawaii( you don't even need a passport:)
A few resources I used for helpful information( since were not the normal travelers)
The unofficial guide to Maui( but they have them for a variety of places.)
This book had maps, estimated costs, basic suggestions you sometimes don't even think about and all in a language I could understand.( Step by Step).

I also really like http://www.tripadvisor.com/

I liked having real (unpaid) travelers telling me what they really thought.  It was really great for checking on the hotel you want to stay at.  If it was dirty, good service, food and how close you are to activities.  We walked to most of our activities.

It's been almost a year since we were in Hawaii and were starting to save and plan for our next adventure, but until then my husband and I will "always have Hawaii".

Yummy Breakfast Pizza!!

Yummy Breakfast Pizza

It's Sunday morning, my favorite day of the week.

Sundays to me are for :

1.) Relaxing
2.) Cooking good meals
3.) Football
4.) Family
5.) Lazy day
6.) and maybe getting just a little laundry done.

So this morning when we woke up, I had such a craving for some breakfast pizza. This recipe is something that I came up with on my own.  I've had breakfast pizza at different places and just decide to create one of my own, that was easy and with ingredients I usually have on hand anyway.

So here's what you'll need

1 6.5 oz pizza crust mix( I use Betty crocker, that you can get for like 99cents, and all you do is add water)
6 Eggs
1 cup of milk
2 Slices of American Kraft cheese( basically your sandwich cheese)
Salt/Pepper
2 cubes cut from a block of Velvetta cheese
1 bunch of Green onions, diced
1/2 package of Oscar Myer Bacon
1/2 cup of shredded Cheddar

1.) Preheat oven to 450
2.) Prepare crust as described on package( basically add 1/2 cup of hot water)
3.) Let your crust rise while you prepare your other ingredients

4.) In a medium sauce pan scramble 6 Eggs, 1/2 cup of milk, 2 slices of cheese and salt and pepper. I like my eggs fluffy, so I cook till they don't have a glaze look.

5.) In another small sauce pan.  Melt the 2 chunks of Velveeta cheese and milk.  Once melted take off burner and let thicken.
6.) Press risen dough onto a pizza pan.  I use olive oil to lightly brush my pan and top of crust.
7.) Place crust in the oven by itself for about 5-7 min.  This will help insure the crust isn't soggy from all the ingredients getting piled on.
8.) In the mean time, microwave 1/2 a package of bacon with paper towels.
9.) Cut up Green onions.
10.) Take pizza crust out of the oven and begin to layer your ingredients.
Cheese sauce, Scramble Eggs, Shredded Cheddar Cheese, Crisp Bacon and Green Onions.
11.) Place back in the oven, and this  should only take about five minutes.  Your basically waiting for the cheese to melt and the crust to get lightly brown.
12.) Cut up like any other pizza and serve. Serves 4 (2 slices per person)

Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do!
